Borrell USA Hosts Almond Leadership Program Seminar in Merced, CA
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Borrell USA will proudly host an Almond Leadership Program Seminar, organized by the Almond Board of California in collaboration with UC Merced. The event will bring together industry leaders, researchers, and future professionals to explore the challenges and opportunities of the almond industry.
The day will begin at Borrell USA’s headquarters in Merced (240 Riggs Ave.), where participants will be welcomed with a coffee break and a team-building activity. A facility tour will follow, giving attendees an inside look at Borrell’s state-of-the-art equipment and technology, along with presentations on the company’s history and continuous innovation in almond processing.
The morning sessions, led by Jose Borrell, will highlight how technology and innovation are driving efficiency, quality, and sustainability across the almond sector.
After a mid-morning break, the seminar will continue with discussions on the key challenges and goals of the industry, followed by a transfer to UC Merced for the afternoon program.
At UC Merced, participants will enjoy lunch while engaging in an industry knowledge exchange led by the Almond Leadership Program team. The afternoon sessions will showcase UC Merced’s Smart Farm initiatives, the Almondry Project, and cutting-edge agricultural R&D led by UC faculty, with a conclusion by 3:00 p.m.
Parking will be available at both the 240 Riggs Ave. office lot (16 spaces) and at the 260 Riggs Ave. workshop lot.
